Has anyone been to any concerts lately? Ive seen Iron Maiden twice 7/11 at PNC and 7/12 at MSG
Saw Sammy Hagar for 12 bucks at Ribfest in Naperville illinois..it was a blast because im a hardcore fan and i got about 10 feet from the stage...IT KICKED ASSSS and im seeing All Time Low next Friday in chicago
Not lately but I've seen other bands in the past. Metallica: 1990, Spokane Coliseum Hole: 1995, Gorge Amphitheater (about halfway between Spokane and Seattle) Hells Belles: 2 times last year and once this year, Spokane, Knitting Factory That's pretty much it.
Livewire your so lucky i had lawn for PNC($25) but did get mosh pit for MSG but was getting a drink when the lights went down and had to be towards the back
doctoracdc is tht all the shows youve seen discluding acdc? and ive seen Iron Maiden 3 times 88,08,10 Metallica 1990 GNR with metallica 91 or 92 cant remember Van Halen 84 and 07 Aerosmith late 80's 1 time and August 12 2010 Judas Priest 86 90 08 there could be a few more but i cant remember
I'm going to see Slash in a few weeks!
I've seen Metallica 20-06-2009 and gonna see Airbourne tomorrow, gonna be a great show!:D I haven't seen more international bands but i'm sure this list will become bigger!
I saw Airbourne back in june, and hopefully going to Ozzfest in Chicago in august.
Airbourne is the only one other than AC/DC. Jomek: "Reincarnate still in me, live agaiaiaiaiaian!" Great song and album! Isn't it awesome that Maiden actually plays their recent stuff, unlike AC/DC?
Suicidehummer: my favorite maiden song and yes I like how they play everything not just hits but I was happy with the somewhere back in time tour
It's cool how they play the new stuff, but I'm annoyed their not playing any songs off "Powerslave" on this tour. It's one of there best albums!! Aces High, 2 Minuets To Midnight, Powerslave, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner!!! Some of their best songs!!! (Not to mention Aces High is one of my favorite songs to play on guitar)
Jailbreakes: or peice of mind or seventh son of a seventh son but aces high powerslave and rime of the ancient mariner dont surprise me tht their not being played cause they werent played much other than in 85 and 08 but two minutes to midnight does another soong to take out would be fear of the dark i dont rlly like it
since i saw AC/DC last september all ive seen is KISS at the Staples Center in LA that was filmed for facebook. But I'm going to see ZZ Top in august, and i dont think im gonna see: Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Airbourne etc. for the Rockstar Uproar tour.
Jailbreakes: They did a whole tour in 2008 dedicated to songs from that era so you really can't complain. Jomek: Yeah I don't know why they think Fear of the Dark needs to be in EVERY setlist. I could easily think of 5 other songs from the FOTD album that should be played instead.
im seeing KISS sept 10th, 14 rows from the stage dead center!!!!!!!!!
Not to piss anyone off but id like Kiss Suicidehummer: I agree about fear of the dark but they could add another song from FOTD or NPFTD
Suicidehummer: Yeah, I know but they could at least play ONE song off the album.... after all, their still playing Number Of The Beast & Hallowed Be Thy Name (which I'm not complaining about, lol) Like jomek said, it would be cool if they played more songs off POM or SSOASS as well (Flight Of Icarus would be cool, so would From Here To Eternity off Fear Of The Dark)
They should add something from the blaze era( i dislike blaze) but clansman is a good song or hooks in you is a kick ass song or even better THE PRISONER
I agree with all the talk re: Maiden. Maybe because they never blew up to reach pop culture at the level AC/DC did, they still have to work hard and maintain their integrity and honesty with the fans. It's awesome that they went out on the Somewhere Back in Time tour and played all those back catalog songs that might have fallen Between the Cracks. It's also awesome that they have the balls and vitality to go out on tour with only songs from the last 10 years and truly audience-test their songwriting and showmanship skills instead of touring as a living museum-piece. I agree, too, about Fear of the Dark. Definitely not one of their best tracks and I'm not sure why they need to keep pulling it out over and over again each show. Maybe they really get off on the audience singalong to the track. AC/DC could really use Maiden as a model of vitality and excitement going forward.
I just saw Rush a few weeks ago and I will be going to see Wolfmother at Lollapalooza in August.
Rnrdamnation: I agree exactly and I guess nobody knows FOTD is continuelly played
My guess is the same as rnrdamnations, because of the audience 'singalong' I'm not really fussed about the Blaze era, nothing against Blaze, I just don't really like any of the songs from that era. On the other hand it would be cool if they did more songs from the Paul Di'Anno era, Prowler, Sanctuary, Killers etc... BTW, check out this video, it's really quite funny. I would hate to be the guy that their angry with! (P.S. This video has explicit language in it, just to let you know)
Jailbreakes: i dont rlly like blaze but the clansman is a great song but i do agree about the Di'anno era songs then on the other hand why not play other stuff from FOTD or NPFTD, not many ppl like NPFTD but i think its a great album and a great title track
NPFTD is Iron Maiden's 'Powerage' album if you get what I mean, but some of the songs on it I don't really care for, but some songs I think are good: Tailgunner, Bring your Daughter & the title track are some good songs off the album FOTD is a great album that they need to play more live, Be Quick Or Be Dead & Chains Of Misery would be awesome to hear live on this (or the next) tour.
jaillbreakes: i agree with all the song choices and about the albums and get what your saying about "powerage" but wht about hooks in you? i think its the best song from tht period
Hooks In You.... The continued story of the character "Charlotte", a prostitute The songs about Charlotte: 1. Title: Charlotte The Harlot Album: Iron Maiden Year:1980 2. Title: 22 Acacia Avenue Album: The Number Of The Beast Year: 1982 3. Title: Hooks In You Album: No Prayer For The Dying Year: 1990 4. Title: From Here To Eternity Album: Fear Of The Dark Year: 1992 I don't know why I did that, I'm bored lol. Hooks In You is a good song, probably the best song from that album but I don't think it's the best from that period.
