Hey all...I just found this site by accident the other day off youtube and was browsing before I signed up and I saw How ac/dc played "The Four O'clock club" in Ft.Lauderdale Fl. in 1977 and I was frigg'in THERE!!!!...lol..I was 15yrs old and had been sneaking in that place for prolly 6mo.before they played (back in them days if you had some money in your pocket and did'nt look like you were 12 nobody bothered to card you, plus I always tipped the guy at the door :)... I was practically a regular...heh...the place was red velvet inside, everything was red and there were two sets of red velvet rope you had to walk between to get to the bar and stage area, this place looked really cheesy, like something you'd see in las vegas, and was not known for concerts...more like disco and dancing lol, anyway,I could'nt drive yet but I was always taking cabs everywhere I went so thats how I got there that night, this was one of the coolest nites of my life, firstly,I was baked out of my gourd on some kickass colombian gold, had a pocket full of money and was already half drunk from hitting the two other bars I could get in...anyway I was sitt'in at the bar and this band started playing that just blew my mind!!!...I'd never seen anything like it,just crazy,I became an instant fan,bon and malcolm stayed afterwards and got drunk and chased the couple girls that were there,I hate to say it but the place was pretty dead all nite,oh,and this place was pretty small too...I went out in the parking lot afterwards and did a couple Quaaludes with this chick I knew and she gave me a ride home later...can't remember if I boned her that night or not(quaaludes) but I did many times after that :) can't remember much of the playlist either 'cause I'd never heard any of the songs b4...know they play'd rocker
Damn, I'm 17 and I haven't done shit that crazy thanks to today's fuckin' overprotective society.
its nice to have a 100% AC/DC fan here, im just 15 and have been to 2 gigs, i got in a fight in one in buenos aires, and i snuck into the moshpit at las vegas, those were right there at the top of the most exiting things ive done in my life. nice to have you aboard.
1) Intro 2) Live Wire 3) Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be 4) Whole Lotta Rosie 5) The Jack 6) Problem Child 7) Baby Please Don't Go 8) Rocker
@suicidehummer;LOL ya you missed it,them were the days, don't get me wrong my parents wanted me home but I did'nt listen very well but I would'nt change a thing 'woot'...I worked at a gas station (back then they were all full service) and would "hang the pumps" somebody'd come in and get a buck or two of gas and we just would'nt shut the pump off then some guy'd come in and ask for a fill-up and then you would just make THAT guy pay the two bucks you just pocketed...plus I sold many "cans of air" lol they'd ask me to check their oil and you'd wipe the dipstick off so it looked like a quart low then you'd go get this can of oil that was already empty and pretend to be putting it in...you could do it w/tranny fluid,brake,p.steering,windshield,etc. plus I sold the best weed in town, plus ludes sometimes.on the weekends they lined up for blocks lol,so I always had big money...anyway,yeah things have really changed since then,a regular police state nowadays...@jessestorozuk..thanx for the setlist, yeah that was probably it,my memory is kinda hazy from 30yrs ago heh plus I had no idea that they would become such rock icons but I could see it...they were hungry...caught my eye, back then I was listening to zep, nazareth, foghat, etc but after that nite you can blv i was listening to ac/dc I converted many friends :) peace all
a mosh pit at an AC/DC show? that's kinda dumb. it's good to see people spending $100 on a concert ticket just so they can go get their face bashed in.
dont know if u have it or not but u can download tht show here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=21S7MV0Y
@annoyedify; No I had no idea somebody recorded it...wow that would bring back the memories for sure...heh...I can't thank you enough for that link...I seen them again after I moved to wis. in 1979 (9/14/1980) I really thought it was over when bon died,"Highway to Hell" was in full swing,EVERYBODY was listening to it...and then somehow they found somebody else to front the band and holy shit they hit a home run! I was still loyal to bon of course but I had to take a second listen when "Hell's Bell's" hit the airwaves...I think that was the first single..and the rest is obviously history...*thank god* peace.
Oh,ya,and this is cool, the headlines (HEADLINES mind you) for the wisconsin state journal the next day after the concert in '80 were "120 DECIBEL AC/DC CRACKS THE FOUNDATION OF THE COLISEUM!!!" the article went on to say how they found cracks in the coliseum, which I thought was cool...heh. feel free to look it up somebody,(9/15/1980) it was either state journal or the capital times...both madison wi newspapers. peace all
