Definitely from 1980-1988. There is a noticeable change in his voice from the "Blow Up Your Video" album to "The Razors Edge" album. And while there have been plenty of kick ass songs since BUYV, I think that overall, the quality of the songs was better back when Brian was writing the lyrics, as opposed to now. Having said that, I still can't wait for the new album. I wish they would hurry up!
