i hope not, but in case...
I was on the dug-out at baseball practice with my team mates after running 28 punnishment laps... and then I started to think abbout phil getting busted for weed. And my mind started to wonder while i was trying to level my breathing; "damn, Phil is in a reall jam... There fore so is AC/DC, i hope they dont restrict him from touring... WAIT!!!" ***Here comes my brilliant idea / thought*** "What if for whatever reason they did stop phill from touring, could'nt AC/DC call in Simon Wright, or Chriss Slade for touring, or recording?!?!?!" let me know what you think, (no arguments please, just your thoughts). Oh and the laps were arround a profetionnal scale baseball field.... lol.
The way I see it, #1 Phil Rudd #2 Chris Slade #3 Simon Wright I don't think it will affect his Touring. Slade was the 2nd best drummer for 'DC to me,and if Phil should ever not be around,I hope they call him. But,I'd rather Phil just play his cards right and stay.
HEY THAT WAS MY 200th POST!!!!!! (this would be # 201) Ride on.
I'm pretty sure Simon Wright is available since Dio's passing. However, I haven't been keeping up on the drama with Phil, so I'm not sure what's going on there, but how much trouble could he possibly be in? Yes, marijuana is technically illegal (in most places) but it wasn't as if he was caught with enough to garner an "attempt to sell" status. The guy should be in the clear other than a slap on the wrist. Again though, I don't know all the specifics of his particular case.
I don't think the band will have problems getting a replacement for their U.S. tour (if there is one) since I think Phil should stay and as DD+MT said, its not like he murdered someone so this should not impact the band at all. If it does, they always have Simon and Chris to fall back on so no worries there. That is if they both want to come back and do not have any other committments.
I think Chris Slade would probably be the first replacement pick for the band on the American tour. I really like Simon Wright's tempo (he pushes the band to work harder) and his Bonzo-like drum-stylings, but I doubt Malcolm and Angus have forgiven him for leaving AC/DC. I expect their attitude is, "NOBODY LEAVES AC/DC UNLESS THEY'RE FIRED, LET GO [Chris Slade] OR DIE."
I agree with RNR Damnation's take on Simon Wright. Other than Bon's era, the live stuff with Simon Wright is leaps and bounds better than any of the live stuff with Chris or Phil IMO. He reminds me of drummers like Cozy Powell, Tim Mallare, John Bonham, Nicko McBrain, Christoph Schneider, and other drummers that beat the living daylights out of there drum sets and force the bands that they work with to get on the same page.
what tour are you talking about? There's no tour on the works
He means if the band go on tour again... lol there isn't one in the works that we know of.
So everybody respect the little turd that Simon (wanker) Wright is? I don't. The comparison DDAMT did made me smile(no offense). Thanks i needed that. So is it official that phil cannot get in the states? How would you react if AC/DC end their career because of this? Ah, Chris Slade was a great drummer.Maybe they can play fire your guns again if...
He'll be able to get into the US if he wanted. Simply because he's a famous musician. It'd be the same as when John Lennon did or as any non American artists with a drug charge. Trust me, it won't hinder any Album or tour ambitions the band may have.
@ Rhece6 I agree. In our country they give pedophiles and child molesters a slap on the wrist, so Phil has no problems touring with the band. Never knew what all the fuss about this was about to begin with, but for those living in other countries probably do not know how lenient some of our laws are and its not like he got busted with meth. What's a little weed?
Actually, this is the second thread on the subject, go figure.
@DD+MT Great post, pretty much sums up my thoughts on this whole thing as well ;)
So in what other countries he could have a problem to go?.... I can't think of one.
