Question about Dirty Deeds AU vinyl
So just the other day in a record store I found the Australian Dirty Deeds album, but it was red vinyl instead of black. Now I'm not gonna lie I don't know much about this kinda stuff, and I was wondering if someone could explain the difference to me? Is the red one still legit or is it fake? The only date on there is 1976 so I didn't think it was a reprint initially
SGThunder, is this the one cuz it looks legit to me, although I may be wrong? http://www.jackwolak.com/ac-dc-lp---dirty-deeds-done-dirt-cheap---australia---item-300567.aspx
Here is one with the 1976 date as you described: http://ring.cdandlp.com/crorec/photo_grande/1250074788-3.jpg
These are bloody fakes. You may check out ebay and you'll find plenty of those supposedly australian vinyls in different colors all the way (orange, red, blue, etc...) and the Japan Tour 1981 picture disc as well. They ain't worth a s**t imo. Don't waste your money for that crap!
Yeah that second picture is it. But dang they're fake? That's what I was afraid of. Probably explains why it didn't cost very much, oh well... man I was all excited for a minute! Thanks Atlas for letting me know though
I still think they might be real, why would a record store sell fake LPS? I would report that store for copyright infringement violations since if it is a fake, they are ripping customers off by passing it off as a legit album.
Not second guessing you Atlas, just my opinion on this one since SG found it in a record store and as far as all the record stores I have been to, I never knew of a store selling fake albums. But, I guess anything can happen for someone to make a profit even if it is selling fakes to customers :(
just as Atlas said. THEY ARE NOT OFFICIAL. i have the aus ddddc red vinyl and i also have the aus hth blue vinyl, other "fakes" are aus ltbr, aus powerage, aus highvoltage, aus t.n.t. ive seen them in yellow, pink and green vinyl. i would consider them pirate relesses. ddddc http://members.acdc-bootlegs.com/jessestorozuk/collection/?item=364 hth http://members.acdc-bootlegs.com/jessestorozuk/collection/?item=366
Yeah, I got HTH in red wax a while back. Played it once and it sounds like shit. It will never see the turntable again. Too bad, cause they all look so good.
Wow, guess they really are fake. Feel sorry for those who purchased them only to find out they look better than they sound. Is there any real way to tell a colored vinyl being fake from a legit release? Some fakes look so official, it is almost impossible to tell. Appreciate the posts Atlas, Jesse, and Todd confirming SG's question which is a good one. I sure was fooled by this one!!
The one I bought was still sealed. I knew it was fake as soon as I seen it. The sleeve was alot thicker material than the original. Also the cover image quality is very poor. I compared it to my original HTH OZ still sealed copy and it looks like they made a cheap photo copy of the original cover. None of the sharp detail is there. So when I opened it, I was suprised it was red vinyl. I'm sure all the other colored releases are the same story.
todds68camaro same here. the cover they use(fake ones) is enlarged. if you hold an original to the fake, you can see he diff. they also "faked" Rarities (backtracks). http://members.acdc-bootlegs.com/jessestorozuk/collection/?item=569 look at these you will see the diff fake aus ddddc http://members.acdc-bootlegs.com/jessestorozuk/collection/?item=364 real aus ddddc http://members.acdc-bootlegs.com/jessestorozuk/collection/?item=393
@jessestorozuk - thanks for posting the news about Rarities being faked too. I had no idea. It would seem collecting vinyl just got a whole lot more difficult for newcomers.
@Jesse, I see what you mean Thanks again for those links and the info ;)
