BBC Concerts: Sight & Sound in Concert: AC/DC
OK Riff Raff, Many of you have probably been waiting for this. This Monday October 16th at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in the U.S., Vh1 Classic will be showing the AC/DC Sight & Sound concert. This would be the great Bon show from October 27, 1977 from the Golders Green Hippodrome in London, England. Many Riff Raff members have this show in one form or the other but for those of you who don't, this is a must have. Set your recording devices. Peace out. P.S. I love the guy in the audience who is dressed like Angus and rocks out with him. Gotta give this guy props way back when since he knew what was up long before most people knew who the hell this band was especially in England in '77. Scotty from Detroit
Well, any recorded would most likely be inferior to the Rock Masters DVD released in Japan of the same concert.
I don't think it's so much about the quality as it is just being able to see the show itself. Not everyone has access to the Rock Masters disc, so this is a great way for every-day fans to see a great recording. I'd guess this could spark some interest in new fans, as well as possibly getting a few older fans back into the band.
The Rockmasters version I have on my computer. That, too, would at least be a 2nd generation version. So, it could be feasible that if you tape the show off of Vh1 Classic (at least 3rd generation) at the SP speed for better quality and then make mpg files on your computer, I don't believe that you could tell the difference by watching the two. As you know, the Rockmasters was supposed to be released here in the U.S. a long time ago and I had preordered it only too find out that for legal obligations that isn't going to happen and the release never took place. I don't want a PAL version from Japan so I think most people would want to tape this show or at least watch it as Nate has mentioned.
Actually, for those who missed it, VH1 is doing another running of the concert at 8:00 PM EST today.
why can't vh-1 classic play other ac/dc shows?? like Largo 82 or the full detroit 83 show?? the detriot show is an edit and cuts out some great ac/dc live during the flick of the switch tour. I must agree with you on this show, it's a great concert with an early show. isn't this cliff's first tour with them?also love those big ass cameras ha ha
Yeah, it's Cliff's first tour with them, in fact if you pay close enough attention to it, you notice that it's actually him, not Mark Evans in the Let There Be Rock promo video on Family Jewels.
