Airbourne: AC/DC follower?!
What do you guys think about airbourne? Shit: They just copy acdc Good: Play like AC/DC but more modern Great: AC/DC Follower? Please write your opinion about this band Just for my own interest ;)
I fucking love them. My favorite new band at the moment. Have all their studio efforts (even the Ready To Rock EP),and am currently awaiting their 3rd album.Loved the first 2,both have some solid tunes. I understand why they are disliked,as they are very similar to AC/DC.(Riffs/Drums especially) However,I think Joel's vocals are vastly different than Bon and Brian's,unlike other AC/DC inspired bands (Rhino Bucket especially) To me they're different enough, that while I can hear the influence, I don't mind them, and am just happy a band like them is out there getting younger people into "Our style of music". Better them than say, Avenged Seven...ehh who cares,or My Chemical Blowmance. Airbourne at least have some balls.
I like this band too. :) when AC/DC came in Athens may 28,2009 their support was The Answer.... .....unfortunately! :( ok,maybe The Answer is good, but Airbourn rocks harder and BETTER!haha... I like their sound too as well, cuz reminds me A LOT of AC/DC (as I fuckin love, for the same reason,ACCEPT!). I have a dvd from Wacken 2011 and their 3 albums and I'm waitnig for the new one :) ...Joel must be a fucking crazy guy He goes drinkin and climbing over the stage... Maybe one day,a manager bring them for a concert in greece.Who knows... but at the time we're prepared for the beach-beer-weed dives and,as soon as the summer ends, for the first winter's concert from MARDUK (bring us N.A.T.O. and Troika,as well,to panzer-roll their heads!) and ACCEPT hahaha :) :) :) Salute you,all :)
I liked them too! Think it's good to see that there are some bands who stick to the roots from AC/DC!! Airbourne really rocks! ;) BUT: I don't like people saying that Airbourne replaces AC/DC or Airbourne is better than AC/DC In my opinion they just make good music in the style of AC/DC But they will never replace the best band in the world: AC/DC!!! :=)
I'll be honest I am not familiar with the band, but after reading these posts I want to check them out! Maybe you guys can help me though... What would be a good album or some good tracks to start with?
hmmm.... I say album "Ready To Rock" -...and you'll be ready to roll haha :) :) :) ;) but each album (Ready To Rock-2004/Running Wild-2008[check out also the official video for the song, with Lemmy as a guest :)]/No Guts,No Glory/2010) is very good to start :) have a rocking lession hahaha :) cheers n salute :)
My favorits are ''blond, bad beautiful'', Bottom of the Well and ''Too much too fast to young''! ;) But there are of course many other good songs on both albums! :) Enjoy them :=)
Airbourne....Well, I am a fan and they are one of the few modern bands around that I actually like now-a-days but I'm not a fan of Joel's guitar playing...It is very repetitive to me, he needs to learn the blues lol. This new band I just discovered called "42 Decibel" is becoming one of my favorite bands. Please check them out, they are a Rock N Roll band for sure and I am becoming pretty good friends with them. They are from Argentina as well!! https://www.facebook.com/pages/42-Decibel/307220931011
Here is there newest single off their up-incoming album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTnMGKUqKFg I really love their sound and feel.Plus, they know how to groove which something Airbourne really doesn't know...
Hey this band sounds really interesting. Can you give me some other tracks for really gettin into it ;) Maybe your favorit songs from this band :) Cheers! :)
Anf by the way: Any link for downloading their stuff? ;) I'm really interested!! :)
Thanks guys I'll definitely check those out! As well as that other band, 42 Decibel, the world is in need of descent new rock music!
they only have released 1 EP so far, and they are getting ready to release a new album. This is my personal favorite off the first EP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YLkFUGU9fU
I will see if I can find a link for the EP and I will send it to you guys.
Thx very much AngusRudd1019 ;) I like that kind of groove this band has! Cheers! ;)
I like 42 Decibel okay,BUT they're not even close to Airbourne to me, lol Sure they can "groove" and are much bluesier, and more close to AC/DC,but that's just it, they're TOO close. 42 Decibel aren't original enough, most of their songs are just compiled AC/DC riffs, cobbled together to make a "different" song. The singer even sounds a tad bit like Bon,basically a Tribute Band. While Airbourne do have a couple songs that are indeed AC/DC-ish in the guitar department(One that sticks out the most is at the end of When The Girl Get's Hot it sounds like Who Made Who at the end) I think they're much more a serious band, with more potential. (and yes, more of a bluesy approach would be nice from Joel,he's a great guitarist, but could use that aspect to kick the band up a notch.) 42 Decibel are a good listen, but I just can't take them all that seriously. No offense, I do like them though. As for song recommendations for Airbourne, Try these out :) Fat City Cheap Wine and Cheaper Women Armed and Dangerous Back On The Bottle Bottom Of The Well
Off Topic: Fat City is such a kickass tune lol Anyways, I have to disagree with you about their originality in some things you pointed out. I think it is a little "not-original" with the rhythm guitarist playing a Gretsch and the lead playing an SG and their singer does sound a tad like Bon but I don't think their riffs are a bunch of AC/DC Tunes but together into 1. In the end I enjoy both bands a lot and I would just like Joel to pick up his guitar chops a bit...That's about all
Just enjoy it guys! I think it's nice to have bands like AC/DC today so please no discussion about who's closer or not! I personally like both of them but I think too that Airbourne has much more ''hit'' singles than 42 decibel. Keep on rockin guys! :) Salute ;):):)
