Midnight Special dvd w/AC/DC
So I was sitting back scrolling through my satellite onscreen TV channel guide, when I noticed something on the Idea! channel called 'Midnight Special Is Back'. This is a paid programming 1 hour spot for the new, never released dvd "Midnight Special", so I was watching it and knew AC/DC performed on the show between 77-78, but never thought they would be shown on this 1 hour paid programming until they showed the various bands in 1 second frames in which Angus duckwalked across the screen and then a longer 6 second shot with Bon and Angus performing!! http://www.midnightspecial.com/products.php I went and did an internet search and came to the site, and lo and behold they are on the 4th shipment dvd for the years 77-78 doing Sin City. The dvd is supposed to have the shows remastered and in Dolby 5/1 Digital Surround sound, so not sure if the quality of this clip will be better which probably is than on YT. Just thought I would pass this on, and BTW it is still on right now until 10 pm Eastern time for those who read this now.
Great to see the band in their older days performing on a paid programming advertisement. IMHO
I watched this same commercial and waited to see if they would pop up and they did!!! I love to see anything with Bon being shown on Public TV.
jessestorozuk is right, it's not very new at all. that's been available for a while. i've seen that paid programming advertisement many times on late night TV over the past couple years.
^ Yep, did some searching and it was an old programming show like you guys said. Dvds were out since 2006. Nice to see anyways and anyone know if the circulated videos of this on YT and such are from this dvd collection? Just curious as to if the recording on the dvd is the best out there or if there is other footage from users on YT or other sites who may have a better quality recording?
i have the dvd with all of the other bands .. acdc sin sity is in there too ...
Here in Australia it was for sale on DVDs a long time ago on one of those fucked up all night adds / channels too .."but wait ... theres still more !! we'll throw in a set of the these chef knives valued @$999 with every DVD purchase,, So... R & R Damnation Didn't make the video as well as Sin City ?
I recall seeing the infomercial in Sept. 2006 in Las Vegas; seeing all the 1 sec acts brought back a lot of faint recollections
