1980-1984 & 1990-today it was more an french style cap...between was more an old grandpas cap...

HI...Theyre called Flat Caps. These where worn mainly fron the North of England, and theyre actually quite old fashioned. You really only see the much older generations wearing them, but they do pop up every now and then on more trendy stars. In the early days Brian used to wear the traditional design, but over the years he changed it to an all black one...i presume, to make it look a bit more "today*. If memory serves me right, he actually threw the origional one into the crowd at Donington, to prove he wasnt going bald whicjh was a press rumour. He then went to the baseball caps for a bit....and still sometimes does.

Andy Cap ( the cartoon) was known for his 'Flat Cap' & that's what Brian wears . A long with the baseball caps .
