Latest bit of crap survey
Riff Raff, These idiots should be shot. Where in the fuck is the greatest band of all time?>>>>>>>>>>>>>> METALLICA's classic 1986 album "Master of Puppets" has been selected by Spence D. and Ed Thompson of IGN Music as the "most influential" heavy metal album of all time. In the accompanying blurb explaining their choice, Spence writes, "Heavy metal fans no doubt have argued till blue in the balls about which METALLICA album is the greatest. It's a tough argument, to be true, but after kicking all naysayers in the gonads, we came to the conclusion that the band's third magnum opus was easily their best. Why? Because it built upon and perfected everything they had experimented with prior. It's the album where all the pieces come together in glorious cohesion and it's the album that finally woke the general public up to the power and the glory that METALLICA was born to spread." The epitome of douchebaggery, if you ask me.
How the fuck did AC/DC's back in black album not make that list? Those dopey guys don't know music, they just know metallica
LOL, I'm sure had they made a top 50, they would had been such "dopey douche bag"s that they wouldn't have even though to put Back In Black on it, you know why? Everyone considers metal bands not to play with feeling, and well, AC/DC plays with a lot of feeling, so it's only natural for them to be called "Kick clAssic Hard Rock & Roll" and not "Heavy Metal". If I was AC/DC, I'd take not being included on a list of "metal" albums as a compliment, and I figure AC/DC would to, because Angus said the tag they got as "metal" in 80s hurt him more than the "punk" tag in the 70s.
Exactly. I guess they just didn't put AC/DC under the Heavy Metal catagory. AC/DC I think are kinds touch and go with Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Some songs I gues they can fall under a certain catagory.
when real music stores were in business (streetside records for example) AC/DC was under the rock banner...not heavy metal which didn't hurt any because when put alphabetically it was first anyway!! how about that!
MoP Metallica's best album WTF, maybe the one that jump started their career, but not the best album in metal history, and Dio (too early in the day for me to start on what I think of him) is metal, this survey IMO is completely irrelevant and useless.
AC/DC Is honestly in my opinion in a genre of there own, because there music doesn't sound similar to other rock bands or metal bands. They could fit under the Hard Rock category, but they could also fit under the Rock or Blues category. But who the fuck cares lol, they have done very well for a mainstream band.
right on! how many times have you herd that a band sounds like AC/DC? many times so they (AC/DC) are in a genre of their own.
IMO I think AC/DC set the bar for what is Hard Rock. I think anything harder, heavier or faster than AC/DC's songs thne your playing Heavy Metal.
Yeah, they draw a fine line themselves early 80's but still don't quite cross over.
My local mall has a FYE in it, and in the FYE they have two sections, metal and rock, AC/DC is under rock, with Aerosmith and stuff like that.
