April Bootleg of the Month - My Top
Ok, here are 10 choices for the April BOTM. These are 10 that I've chosen that I think are either rare, have very uncommon songs, or ones that I think just kick ass in general. Here they are, in no particular order: 1) Sep 4, 1985 - [Playing with Girls] -- includes Playing with Girls, First Blood 2) Nov 11, 1983 - [Ohio Badlands] -- includes Badlands, Flick of the Switch rehearsals 3) Mar 11, 2003 - Roseland Ballroom, NYC, NY, USA -- personal favorite, just kicks ass 4) Jul 1, 1980 - Deinze, Belgium -- includes Problem Child, Given the Dog a Bone, Rocker 5) 1978-1979 - [Going Dutch] -- includes 2 near soundboard quality shows 6) Jan 7, 1977 - [The Little Cunts Have Done It] -- One of my all time favorites, excellent track list 7) Aug 18, 1979 - London, England -- includes Walk All Over You, If You Want Blood, interview 8) Dec 2, 1982 - NYC, NY, USA -- includes Put the Finger on You, not very common 9) Oct 16, 9182 [Live '82] -- includes Let's Get it Up 10) Jan 12, 1996 - [Jurassic Rock] -- includes Dog Eat Dog, Down Payment Blues, Who Made Who So there you go. I'll choose from this list for April's BOTM. Feel free to discuss each and explain why your choice should be added to the poll. I can't promise it'll do any good, but it also can't hurt! If needed, I'll post links to all track lists. Just make a post requesting it. Nate
Roseland Ballroom is my choice, All the kick ass songs from 1978 Powerage done by Brian!
Hi BigNate, My pick would be the Aug 18, 79 London gig. It's the only Bon-era concert in the list and I'm a big fan of him. "If you want blood" is a kickass song, which is another reason for my choice. I believe and correct me if I'm wrong, this concert was at the Wembley Stadium as part of a festival. Other than that, my notes say the band played live in France on Dec 2, 82. Are you sure about #8 item on your list? Cheers
Great catch Mammoth The Dec 2, 1982 boot in New York City should be Dec 2, 1981. Nate
hard to pick, but i'll have to say Jurassic Rock, its the opening show of the ballbreaker tour and includes who made who, which was scraped from the rest of tour the little cunts have done it also sounds great Mammoth: Going Dutch and The Little Cunts Have Done It are both Bon-era boots, so 3 Bon and 7 Brian
acdcussr: you're absolutely right and I wonder how I ended up writing this! I must have been thinking "the only Bon-era concert in the list I don't own". Sorry for that.
I'd go with 1) Sep 4, 1985 - [Playing with Girls] -- includes Playing with Girls, First Blood i love the fly on the wall album and tour, and ive never heard these songs live.
Canīt really decide...itīs like a little boy in a candy store. 1) GOING DUTCH 78-79 2) London 1979 2) Ohio Badlands 1983 Sounds nice...
Nate, My pick would be roseland first and the Aug 18, 79 London second.
Any songs that are live or many unreleased ones would be great! Go with Roseland Ballroom, it has many great live songs. Or the Playing with Girls one... sooo many I want/need to finish up my ultimate mp3 AC/DC series.
Spellbound: most bootlegs are live, i take it that you are just starting to trade/collects bootlegs?
It's No. 5 or 7 for me......78-79 is when I saw them the most. It would be nice to complement my 77 shows. Bon was the real deal...a true performer. I look at a lot of bands today and think.....they sure do try hard.....Bon and the boys did it effortlessly, they're still better than a lot of new bands today. Say what you will about "dinosaur rock"......it still gets played on all radio stations....and still sells a lot. Have been told 79 shows are the ones to get....they were peakin'.....
Excellent choices, Nate. The ones I'm interested in are the following: 1) Sep 4, 1985 - [Playing with Girls] -- includes Playing with Girls, First Blood 4) Jul 1, 1980 - Deinze, Belgium -- includes Problem Child, Given the Dog a Bone, Rocker 8) Dec 2, 1982 - NYC, NY, USA -- includes Put the Finger on You, not very common 9) Oct 16, 9182 [Live '82] -- includes Let's Get it Up 10) Jan 12, 1996 - [Jurassic Rock] -- includes Dog Eat Dog, Down Payment Blues, Who Made Who For those who are interested, The Little Cunts Have Done It - Hobbart 1977 has been available for download for quite some time at the following link: http://acdcboogie.free.fr/pagesweb/audio/index.php3# Matt
thanks for the site, wish i could read french so i could navigate but i'll figure it out
Thanks for your input guys, I'll have the new poll ready on April 1. I'll also have a new give-away with a dvd I think everyone will want to win! Nate
Deinze is abootleg I have wanted since I started collecting, and august 18,1979 would be cool because it is Bon
iīm going with: 8) Dec 2, 1982 - NYC, NY, USA -- includes Put the Finger on You, not very common
I know I said I was going to choose Roseland, but that was before I saw the setlist for Jurassic Rock. How can you say no to 5 ultra-rare tracks? I strongly encourage you all to vote for Jurassic Rock!!
Dang! looks like Roseland is going to win, too bad that I already own that boot (got it from acdc-archives back when they were doing monthly boots). Jurassic Rock & Deinze are my choices for the rare tracks. I'm all for rare tracks.
vote for Jurassic Rock people, Roseland is a pretty common boot and can be found just about anywhere
vote Deinze boys! quality bootlegs from the "back in black" tour are not common!
Keep them coming! Let's get some reasons why you want a certain bootleg! Bring some life to the forum. Nate
Seriously Guys, Jurassic Rock has 5 AWESOME rare tracks! I have barely heard these tracks from the studio, let alone a bootleg!! Cover You in Oil Boogie Man Who Made Who Hail Caesar Down Payment Blues I BEG those of you who voted for Roseland to change your vote to Jurssic Rock!! P.S. Acdcussr is right, Roseland is sooooo common on hubs, etc.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD..... VOTE FOR JURASSIC ROCK!!! almost everyone on the hubs has roseland, GET IT FROM THEM! How can you say no to tracks like: Girls Got Rhythm Dog Eat Dog Down Payment Blues Shot Down In Flames and all the great Ballbreaker tracks! VOTE FOR JURASSIC ROCK! BigNate: i was wondering if you could do the dial-up guys a favor; please do whatever is needed for the BOTM to support resume btw: why didnt the band play FTATR at Roseland?
Hey acdcussr, i think the reason no one is voting for our beloved Jurassic Rock is because awhile ago Show Yer Ass won BOTM. I never downloaded it, because I was not a member at the time. Either way people, that is NO excuse to not vote for JURASSIC ROCK. Please vote for it! BTW: why are there almost the same amount of votes for the 1979 show? There are soooooo many 79 shows that are EXACTLY the same!!!
jdd1510 is right and I own Show Yer Ass but the reason I would like to have Jurassic Rock is for the performance of Who Made Who and b/c Brian also as I've heard welcomes Phil back to the band. And the '79 shows are very similar - Walk All Over You & If You Want Blood may seem uncommon now but were a staple of the Highway To Hell Tour. But the Bon fans will always vote for a Bon Boot. I like Bon & Brian equally but I enjoy hearing Brian sing Bon-era songs like Rocker. Deinze would be cool too, Problem Child, Given The Dog A Bone & Rocker how can we pass this boot up? Roseland is fairly common I would imagine that it is on most torrent sites. I hope Jurassic or Deinze will win so that I don't have to go another month without a new bootleg to enjoy. Well I'm done ranting. Cheers.
one final rant... according to an AC-DC Fans.net thread, on the Deinze bootleg, the boys play the outro solo to Back In Black now that is pretty sweet.
Ballbreaker is one of my favorite albums/tours. a lot of people already have Roseland, i dont see why it is getting so many votes, if you dont have Roseland, get it from the hubs; not too many people have jurassic rock if you want a great boot.... VOTE FOR JURASSIC ROCK!!
acdcussr--you are correct again. I 100% agree. Most people have all the other concerts in the hub. C'mon people. VOTE FOR JURASSIC ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
i was looking for jurassic rock and guess how many people had it? 2. the 2 people i found that had it had incomplete versions and were missing 5 or 6 songs (same songs for both users). i downloaded back in black from jurassic rock and it is GREAT. how many people have roseland? no less than 10. and most, if not all, are complete. so please if you want roseland, get if from the hubs. i'm sure the users would be more than happy for you to download it from them. but as for jurassic rock, good luck finding a COMPLETE version on the hubs or anywhere else on the internet, except here (if it wins BOTM) VOTE FOR JURASSIC ROCK!!!!!!!!
Hey guys. I just looked at results of the vote and Roseland leads by almost 20 votes over London 79. I read that one could change his vote. So I suggest to team up to switch votes for a unique target. I originally voted for London 79 but I'm willing to change my vote to Jurassic Rock or Deinze just before April 15 if Roseland has a decisive lead. Let us agree on 1 boot and act accordingly.
I agree, my vote goes to Jurassic or Deinze depending on which ever one has a better chance of beating Roseland.
Hey guys I think that is a good idea. As of right now, I would vote for Jurassic Rock if I were you guys because it has a lead over Deinze right now, because I don't think many more people are going to vote for Deinze. Anyway thats just what I would do...
we should ALL vote for jurassic rock, if it is very unlikely that deinze or london will win on april 14th, i say we team up to beat roseland's ass and vote for jurassic rock, we should all be anyway!
we should ALL vote for jurassic rock, if it is very unlikely that deinze or london will win on april 14th, i say we team up to beat roseland's ass and vote for jurassic rock, we should all be anyway! wow this month's BOTM is getting a lot of posts; usually theres one or two people who post something suggesting to vote for a particular bootleg, NOTHING LIKE THIS VOTE FOR JURASSIC ROCK!!! another idea: if jurassic rock doesnt win this month, we should all push for it to be on next months poll

god, didnt mean to post it three times, sorry everyone! my stupid dial up disconnected me three times so it got sent that many, OOPS!
god, didnt mean to post it three times, sorry everyone! my stupid dial up disconnected me three times so it got sent that many, OOPS!
i think we must vote not for london '79 or roseland, are two bootlegs relatively common. i want deinze, but if it can't beat roseland i'll change my vote to jurassic rock
AGAIN, c'mon people, all the other concerts are easy to obtain on the hub. JURASSIC ROCK for God sakes.
i have 15 gigs on cd from the ballbreaker tour.please not jurassic rock :-) vote for london or deinze!!!!!! sorry for my english
a victory for deinze looks very unlikely right now, but i could be wrong, as of now deinze is 4th, jurassic is 3rd, london is 2nd and roseland (of course) is 1st. i dont think the places will change much, just the votes. should this be the case on april 14th (with deinze in last and victory unlikely), i strongly urge those who have voted for deinze and london (if london cant win either) to vote for jurassic rock!!!
Ok guys, as of right now Jurassic Rock is 30+ votes behind Roseland, and London is roughly 20 votes behind. It is extremely unlikely that any show besides Roseland will win unless some people start switching votes. I am making my final plea for Jurassic Rock. I know that a lot of people would like to have this bootleg. PLEASE change your vote to Jurassic Rock!!!
would a bootleg as good as Jurassic Rock be getting this many post!?!?? C'MON PEOPLE VOTE FOR JURASSIC ROCK!!!!! jdd1510: you are correct; if people dont start changing their votes, roseland will definitely win i will include all the reasons why jurassic rock should win A) it has a great setlist that includes: Dog Eat Dog, Who Made Who, Shot Down In Flames, Down Payment Blues, Girls Got Rhythm, and all the great Ballbreaker tracks B) Roseland and London '79 are very common on the hubs C) Most of the people on this site already have Roseland D) Jurassic Rock is a bootleg that is hard to come by; on the hubs, i have only found two people who have incomplete versions of Jurassic Rock (both users are missing the same songs) E) It sounds great F) Its a cool name G) It has a dinosaur on the cover H) It has Malcolm on the cover I) Beavis and Butthead are in it J) Ballbreaker is a great album and had a great tour ok maybe you can forget F-I, but still; VOTE FOR JURASSIC ROCK!
i changed my vote to jurassic rock. i hope that you all will do it
first time posting on here. alright, in my personal opinion i'd love to have the March 11th, 2003 Roseland Ballroom show, mainly because i lack "newer" shows in my collection, plus if it's good/great sound quality, whats not to like?
Hey folks, what is the soundquality of the Deinze show? Is it good, soundboard? Good audience quality? I'd like to have some very early Brian shows and Deinze seems to be one of the first shows with him on vocals, am I right? Okay, but all in all, Roseland and JR sound pretty good to me too. But I think I'll vote for Deinze. BTY: anyone got some early Brian shows and is willing to trade?!
i have the all the boots that are up for the boot of the month :-(, and yes my copy of the '96 show is complete i believe, 20 tracks, with all the rarities included i think. what would be awesome though is a remastered one..i could give it a try at remixing this audio, but i read the sound guys fucked up during the show and the sound live wasnt very good anyway. second, is the '80 show remastered? cuz i have two copies, one is 'remastered' and the other one is pretty poor. either way, great show the roseland isnt that hard to come by. go on the ac/dc hub on DC++..the hub is ac-dc-boots.no-ip.info. you can find most of the boots of the month there. and lastly big nate, since the ac/dc videos page is down, please consider putting a video of the week/day/hour here too ;-)
masterx449: i checked your files on DC++, you have 20 tracks, BigNate has 23 tracks listed; therefore you have an incomplete version, Compie is also missing the same tracks (not sure which ones though)
Well, the picture has not changed. Roseland continues to lead the poll over London 79 by 20 votes, and Jurrasic is well behind. The strategy is not working. I suggest to look again at the picture on the 13th & 14th and agree on a final move. For now, I stick to my first vote for London.
Anybody who has any '79 boots already has heard and owns these songs live, Bootleg #5 from this site for example. I already own several boots from '78-'79 and most of the 2003 stuff as they've have been often available for download on sites such as this one. I suggest that anybody who wants a Bon boot from '79 to go the the links on this site and to go to www.acdc-fans.net and download Angus Cha Cha, 02-11-1979, Hammersmith Odeon, London England. They also have Stronger Current which is a '78 boot. The Angus Cha Cha boot features such songs as If You Want Blood and is a double cd bootleg. Perhaps having your '79 boot fix we can agree to vote for Jurassic Rock which is the rarest of all the boots being offered this month.
ohh yeah i'm missing hard as a rock, dirty deeds done dirt cheap, and rock n roll aint noise pollution never thought of that!! thats weird
and i think you shook me all night long or whole lotta rosie but i'm not sure. all i know is that you have 20 tracks (including the beavis and butthead intro) and nate has 23, but i know there is one more track on your list, i just dont know which one
sorry BigNate has 24 including the intro, you have 20 including the intro, therefore you are missing four tracks: hard as a rock, rock n roll aint noise pollution, dirty deeds, and whole lotta rosie
falling_uphill: go to the hubs, almost everyone has it on the hubs, not too many have Jurassic Rock
Hey everyone that voted for the Wembley show, I hope you know that it is only a FAIR recording. Check this out: Owner: BigNate Date: Aug 18, 1979 Location: Wembley Stadium, London, England Bootleg Title: Complete: Complete Audio/Video: Audio Source: mp3 Quality Rating: Fair <------------------------------------ Length: 61 mins Number of Songs: 10 Number of Discs: 1 Track List: Disc 1 1) Live Wire 2) Shot Down in Flames 3) Walk All Over You 4) Bad Boy Boogie 5) The Jack 6) Highway to Hell 7) Whole Lotta Rosie 8) Rocker 9) If You Want Blood 10) Interview Please don't vote for a FAIR Bon bootleg. I know a lot of people would rather have a Bon bootleg, but why when it is a FAIR recording and when there is an EXCELLENT 1996 recording in the same poll? Look at Jurassic Rock's statistics: Owner: BigNate Date: Jan 12, 1996 Location: Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, NC, USA Bootleg Title: Jurassic Rock Complete: Complete Audio/Video: Audio Source: shn Quality Rating: Excellent <------------------------------------- Length: 138 mins Number of Songs: 24 Number of Discs: 2 BadBoyBoogie.de Address: http://www.badboyboogie.de/bootlegs/1226.html Track List: Disc 1 1) Beavis & Butthead Intro 2) Back in Black 3) Shot Down in Flames 4) Girls Got Rhythm 5) Dog Eat Dog 6) Thunderstruck 7) Cover You in Oil 8) Shoot to Thrill 9) Boogie Man 10) Ballbreaker 11) Hells Bells 12) Down Payment Blues 13) The Jack Disc 2 1) Who Made Who 2) Hard as a Rock 3) Rock and Roll Aint Noise Pollution 4) Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 5) You Shook Me All Night Long 6) Whole Lotta Rosie 7) TNT 8) Let There Be Rock 9) Hail Caesar 10) Highway to Hell 11) For Those About to Rock Please! All those who voted for Wembly but didn't knw it was a "FAIR" recording, pile your votes onto Jurassic Rock!!
how could I have forgotten that in my list of reasons!!
good point acdcussr..yeah i guess i am missing four :-( and for everybody who isnt voting for the '96 show yet...having a show with phil playing on who made who is enough for me to vote for it even if it was the whole BIB album 5 times through with wmw stuck inbetween :-)
We are a day away from the 15th. London 79 is 15 votes behind Roseland, and Jurassic's far behind with almost no chance te catch the leader. Hence, I keep my vote for London 79, hoping for a miracle. C'mon guys, this is the last call to change your vote.
I just want to say that if London gets too close to Roseland, I WILL CHANGE my vote to Roseland to pad it. I don't want another run-of-the-mill 79 show, I already have enough. I encourage all Jurassic Rock and Deinze voters to do the same if London gets too close for comfort, because both shows have almost 0 chance of winning (damn!!)
yes, it looks like our precious Jurassic Rock won't win this month. I will do this same and vote for Roseland on the 14th if Jurassic can't win. I don't want another '79 show either.
Ok guys....after being a member for i don't know a year, I guess it's time to start posting. for me it's quite bad that JURASSIC ROCK didn't make it. This would have been the first NEW BOTM for me since mid of last year's summer...I have more than 220 boots, which also includes the Opening Concert for the 1996 Ballbreaker Tour in Greensboro, but as I was missing Hard as a Rock from the gig I asked a good friend of mine if he could pass it on to me...I was surprised that it was so good, because the rest of the show was rather noisy, so I assumed, that my incomplete concert is from another recording, where Hard as a Rock was missing at all. So again, ...too bad that JURASSIC ROCK didn't win, but maybe we have the chance to get that excellent boot later on....
