Can anyone recommend a reliable Youtube video downloader?  I'm not having luck with those I install that I found using search engines.  And are the ads going to be a part of the video?  Thanks very much in advance.

If you after a particular program, JDownloader appears to work pretty well.

In terms of browser extensions, DownloadHelper in Firefox works decently.

Part of the issues happens from YouTube changing streaming methods.

Yeah i also recommend both of those suggestions, jdownloader will download every avaliable source from video to audio, 240P - 1080P, for quick audio i suggest youtube-mp3.org

Thanks again guys.  I got the video I wanted using Freemake.  If I was smarter I could get the other two to work but Freemake is good enough for me.

to each their own, use what works for you! but i do recomend having jdownloader for those, "just in case" situations...
