Question for the Riff Raff about BONFIRE
Riff Raff, I recently got the Friday Rock show interview conducted by Tommy Vance with Angus Young. In the interview Tommy mentions that Bonfire is available as of today which means that is the date of the interview. I know that Bonfire was released in the U.S. on November 11, 1997 BUT>>>> What day was Bonfire released in the U.K.??????????
According to the book advertised on Nate's homepage "AC/DC Maximum Rock & Roll" the Bonfire release dates were November 17 - Europe and Australia November 18 - United States December 6 - United Kingdom
Dailydose, Thanks for your post. Amazon.com in the U.S. lists Bonfire as being released on November 11, 1997 but that book says November 18th. Either way, I guess I just need to verify if anyone in England knows the date for sure if it really was November 17th. Awaiting anyone's help. Thanks
Dailydose, I think Amazon is wrong because I remember buying Bonfire and Metallica's Reload album on the same day when it was released. Amazon lists Reload as being released on the 18th and Bonfire on the 11th. I am betting that the 18th IS CORRECT like you mentioned and I will go with the December 6th UK date. During the interview, they show Status Quo tour dates really quick. I googled Status Quo tour dates and those were for the end of December 1997. I bet the December 6th date is correct and I will use that for the Tommy Meets Angus VH1 interview. Thank you kindly for the input.
A lot of times amazon and other sites like that will put the date of the "first" releases of an album, 11/11 probably is the date the promo copies started circulation.
