After reading the newest AC/DC book, Maximum Rock n Roll (good book btw) I couldn't help me re-reading the part where it talks about the Let There Be Rock Movie. It says no video version of T.N.T. was filmed due to the directors dislike of the song and Walk All Over You doesn't have complete footage due to damage. The film was originaly 110 min. but interveiws were cut and given to the band. According to Mal and Angus on the Live at Donington commentary the original master tape for LTBR is also damaged. So looks like there will be no official DVD release or complete shows on bootleg surfacing.

That sounds a bit unecessary on the Director's part. Granted everybody has their personal favourites, I wouldn't have chopped a song just because I didn't like it. What a clown. I woulda chopped Rosie before I would have chopped TNT (from this set anyway). He could have a used a 'didn't have enough room on the tape' excuse, that would have saved him from coming across like a dick by saying he didn't like it so it' wasn't gettin' filmed. It strains the mind to think they just stopped the cameras for that song. Grrrr. Cutting room floor maybe? What a joker. Bad dog, down boy.

This proves that David Mallet, director of Live At Donington, is better of a director than that guy. Did you see some of the camera angles they made them do in Let There Be Rock The Movie, like one where you could see right up Phil's nose. And also the Let There Be Rock editing, you can clearly tell that it's been edited.

Yea you're right but too bad Epic/Sony had to dub the crap out of Donington. I'll agree the camera angles on LTBR were pretty bad, but it was the camera crews 2nd time filming the band so I'll cut them a little slack and that would be hard....thanks to Angus and Bon haha.

Yeah, but overrall the production was better on Donington. They didn't really have the proper lighting or sound for a true release of Let There Be Rock the Movie.

angusaholic, hey man, don't get me wrong I love Rosie too, no question it was one of Bon's high points, but the version on LTBR imo, isn't the greatest one i've heard mainly due to Angus' guitar givin' him problems and the overall sound quality. The version from the Nashville Record Bar set is one of my favourites audio wise, and if the version from IYWB was filmed, then that would be the one to see. Agree with you Trav about the Donington sound. It was healthy at the time, and still sounds healthy today. Lotsa dubbing tho ;-)

Uhh, Sin City was not played at Donington, therefore it would be impossible for it to be on AC/DC Live. Hell Ain't A Bad Place to Be is on the Japanese 2 CD version of AC/DC Live. They usually get extra tracks.

I have atlantic's version on vhs and epics dvd. same video diff audio, am I the only one who caught this??

that would have been nice...however the single for highway to hell from live had some donnington live tracks and "Hell ain't a bad place to be" is one... the other tracks were "The Jack and High Voltage" and they sound good with Brian singing them.

The sound on the remastered DVD was dubbed over and fixed in a few places. Audio from other shows was used in some places... for example... during the Let There Be Rock platform solo, Angus's guitar cuts out because he's far away from the receiver. On the VHS, you can hear this, on the DVD, it's been fixed. During Shoot to Thrill, Brian's screams (and you can hear this) when the microphone is in his pants (on the DVD). During Whole Lotta Rosie, Angus goes to turn the volume up on his guitar, but instead turns it off. On the DVD, this has been fixed. The VHS contains Donington's true audio. The DVD is overdubbed in some places... in the future, I hope to convert the VHS to DVD, rip the audio, and overdub the DVD with the VHS (the REAL) audio. Thus, you have the show's real audio and the best picture quality.
