thank goodness, this is what i was hoping, because it was just the word of one person, didn't expect it so fast though. that was the worst 24 hours in my time as a fan. let's see what happens with the drug charges. be interesting to see if the band issue another statement supporting him, that would say alot about if there's a hope of seeing phil on tour next year. he still might do jail time, the judges might be out for him as he's got off with other offences in the past, would they let it slide again, so he could tour?

Given that the charges that he threatened to kill someone are still out there, and these are drug charges inolving meth, I wonder if Phil isn't going to just have to sit this tour out unless the courts act quickly or the band delays a tour.

I say this not to be negative but to be real, even though he has played the songs countless times, they usually do a warmup session that results in figuring out the setlist and getting the techs used to working with the equipment again. If, for example, they hire on Phil's tech and load up Phil's drums and are in another country when Phil is called to court, they'll have to do a pretty heavy shuffle to get Drummer B warmed up with the band, their tech in town, their drums in town (unless they are comfortable using Phil's) and then dealing with potentially lugging two sets of drums around.

I say, mostly dependant upon when the rest of the guys want to tour, have another drummer (Bob Richards?) play at least the first leg until Phil's court stuff is settled down, then, if he doesn't have to serve jail time or do any type of community service and probation that would take time away from the band, possibly let him rejoin between legs so they could have time to rent a rehearsal space or use an arena all day to practice with him.

i can't see the band delaying the tour, especially the summer festivals, it'll be business as usual as always, they won't let 1 person hold it back. what MIGHT have happened as meth has been mentioned is phil went to london to do the video shoots, he did the first shoot on the first day (as far as i know) then the band realised something was up and got in bob richards for the second days shoot. i reckon he was just someone who was available at short notice, can't see him touring with them. this is just my thinking and hopefully i'm wrong. we'll never know the real truth. but the next tour will be interesting. i just hope everything turns out good for phil, and wish him good luck.

he must have been ok for the recording of the album.

^^ Why? I mean if you're getting haunted by the media you'd do the same like Phil especially being the shy guy he is! I can't blame him. Feels so much better that charges have been dropped.

So now AC/DC guys will tread him back with hugs and kisses after they chichen run against him on the first sign of prochecution. Lowal friends they are, completely turning their heads to their drummer. I sincerly hopy Phill won't go back to play with them. Given them the finger back.
