Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams to perform in July (with NEW MATERIAL)
RIFF RAFF, Here is some interesting news. Someone needs to tape this. John Entwistle Foundation Benefit Being Held Two Nights At New York City's B.B. King's Blues Club Posted By DSR on 05.16.07 B.B. Kings Blues Club will be hosting two special nights, July 15th and July 17th, for the John Entwistle Foundation Benefit. The benefit will feature AC/DC members Brain Johnson and Cliff Williams with special guests Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad and Joe Lynn Turner of Rainbow/Deep Purple. This very special benefit show uses the talents of a single backing band comprised of world class musicians. By doing this the club is able to have some of the biggest voices in rock walk on stage and sing only their biggest hits. Joe Lynn Turner of Deep Purple/Rainbow will sing classics like "Street of Dreams," "Stone Cold," "Smoke on the Water," and "Hush." Mark Farner follows with a mini-set of Grand Funk Railroad foot-stompers including, "We're An American Band," "I'm Your Captain," "Some Kind of Wonderful," and "Locomotion." As if this isn’t enough the final set is performed by Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams of AC/DC performing their mega hits along with new material that has never been performed live. After two solid hours of non stop hits all of the musicians join together for a very special encore. These concerts help to raise money for "free music education and instruments for underprivileged children through the public library system." In addition we have also raised money for other charities including the Red Cross, Florida Hurricane Relief Fund and many others. Internet-only pre-sale starts this Friday May 18th at 12PM ON Ticketmaster.com. Use code: OXROCK to buy tickets online. Box-office sales start Monday, May 21st at 12PM.
