i started this new post since there was a reply to the old one with a ripper, but he had one that does not read copy protected dvds, so i am still looking for one that does rip copy protected ones, so if you can show me some freeware or send me a serial number id appreciate it

use DVD Shrink - that's the best software for ripping DVDs

Yeah, DVD Shrink is the best copying software, but for converting the videos into a "portable" format (Divx/Xvid/MPEG) you need another program, although TMPGenc 4 Xpress works great.

Shrink is actually horribly outdated, and can't handle most of the new copy protection schemes on DVDs. However, for copying a bootleg, it's good enough.

yeah, dvd shrink is great, but not totally up to date it doesn't work with some newer DVDs, especially Sony

Shrink can handle older copy protection, which I'm sure smaller companies still use. Sony indeed are cocksuckers with the copy protection. There's only a few DVD rippers that can break them. The one I use myself is DVD Fab Platinum. Easily found on any torrent site.

I hate to put a delayed response...but I've tried to see if it'd work with Talladega Nights and it says "Invalid navigaton".

Weird, I think it might be mine, will have to try it on my Vista system. Do you have anything else on your computer such as "AnyDVD"?
