That's what I was thinking too...now everyone all over the world ain't gonna feel safe on a bridge even if it's not that old.

We had like a 60 year old bridge were I live, and I never felt safe on it, but now we have one of those new massive wide cable bridge. We also have a bridge that was destroyed from a hurricane but most of the same pieces from the damaged one are still on the bridge today and its also around 30 years old.

Can you say "ahh!!"? Can you tell me why it would be even logical to reassemble a bridge from damaged pieces?

I think CLIFF means the bridge was just patched together instead of being replaced. sounds like somebody wants to save money instead of lives.

Haha exactley, Travis and Wes. It's also one of those turning briges that opens for tall boats such as sailboats. They say were are getting some massive new brige in replace for that one, and work was supposed to start this year, but I guess not. And yes it is freaky going over it, some of the supports are made of wood and their in saltwater, rotting. Not Good. oh and money is also an issue.

Hmm...anybody that's got any amount of knowledge knows that wood + water = rotten.

I was in Minniapolis at the time of that bridge collapse, thats all the freckin news talked about. I understand that it is a big deal, but really is it so big that it can go on and on and on bla bla bla. You can certainly feel in the atmosphere of Minniapolis or however you spell it hehe that people were feeling down and sad. Best wishes go out to those involved.

I kinda agree with that, the news reports here in Atlanta were all talking about the Mike Vick dogfighting case, until this happened....then they were carrying on about this. The news just doesn't know when a story crosses the line from a story to an obsession...but at least they were reporting/obsessing over something worth it.

Oooh, I hate to put it like this, but it sucks for you, cause you happen to already not feel safe on it, but now that it's "The Worst" your area, I think money should no longer be an issue.

Oh my bad, its rated 7 out of 100 of the worst bridges in South Carolina, but the worst closest to me, and the one I use most. And get this, serious repair won't be until 5 YEARS!!!
