Hi folks Just posting this because of what I mentioned in the previous newsletter, and wanted to give you all a heads up as to what's going on. The new design/layout for this site is still progressing. I've got probably 90% of everything complete, but it's the last 10% that will be tough. The bulk of the main site will be done. Already is, so nothing to worry about there. Most of the tools on the back end will take a bit longer, so you might not be able to edit your forum profile or update your tradelists for a while. I'm planning on trying to copy the existing tools over and seeing if they'll work, so this might not be anything to worry about. I'll find out more once I try that. So enough of this technical mumbo jumbo. That's the geek-factor in me showing through. The new site will feature quite a few new things: - new design, graphics, layout - new sections - new forum (with the existing posts still in place) - an easy place to see what has recently been updated on the site - and more random things I can't remember at the moment. When I was rebuilding the site, I really wanted to make this more of a member driven site so I tried to include more ways that members can submit information. With that in mind, I put in a News section, added a way to submit Links to the links page, and have a few more ideas planned to keep the information on the site new and interesting. I've also rebuilt the forum so I believe it may actually work! I was getting really annoyed by the fact that I couldn't tell which sections had new messages in them any more. The only down side is that I will be out of town over the 1st of September, and would rather have full access to the site for trouble shooting and fixing bugs that pop up. The newsletter and BOTM will be posted on time, and I will start updating the site when I get home. I'd expect to have it in place by September 8th or so. So, since I will be a bit late getting the new site up, I've decided to post a screen shot of the new design. This image is of a page in the Venue Listing (soon to be known as the Concert History). You should be able to make out the new design pretty clearly, as well as the layout of the information. I wasn't able to get the entire page on one image, but you should get the general idea. I'm pretty excited about this, so hopefully most of you will be as well. I'll mention this in the newsletter, so no big deal in remembering it for the time being. Any feed back is welcome. Click here to see the screen shot.

One thing that can possibly be done is a "double post" control check. Something that, if someone accidently double (or even triple) clicks the "post" link, it'll only accept the first one, or allow us to delete out own postings. Great for people on bad internet connections.
