THIS IS FUCKIN AWESOME!!!! Half these shows I don't think anyone around here even knew there was footage from. I'm campin outside WAL-MART oct 15-16 hahaha.
I didn't even know there was a show at Houston in 83. If this is true then you could say I will be very happy when my 3 dvd version arrives to the door.
same with most of the Bon-era and about half with the Brian-era. I CANT WAIT!!
Wow, a lot of this stuff we already had! With all the hype I thought it would include more rarities. I am, however, flabbergasted by the appearance of the St. Albans footage. I had no idea that existed. I think that footage alone will be worth the price of the DVD. And the inclusion of Ride On blows me away! Fuckin' great! I can't wait.
well as for you saying yad think it would include more rarities, and i do agree with you, but you do gotta remember, to the common public this is extremely rare shit and to us its just shows we come across alot, correct?
The Golders Green and Glasgow footage official releases here in the US...that is actually very rear, GGH was only in Japan, and Glasgow's only had two tracks. But that thing from Atlanta GA, that's my hometown...and I had no idea that thing existed... But "Ride On", is that true? Can't wait!
Bill your right on that one. The public probably havent heard of any of these shows. I had no cluse about the 83 footage (largo and houston) and all that 75-76 stuff either.
is this all "offical" dvd or is it a boot? is epic putting this out?? and yea I'll get it no matter what!!
Yeah,AC/DC just switched to Columbia records, and this the first thing they are releasing with Columbia.
This is amazing with all the rare footage on these dvds...I can't wait to get this =]
i'm thrilled for all that will be on this set - an official live compilation like this is long overdue... but i'm sad to see NOTHING represented from Fly On The Wall or Blow Up Your Video albums / eras. I'm afraid their exclusion from this set virtually guarantees we'll never see it.
Yeah, but c'mon. Why are the years '85-89 completely missing? What about all the great rare tracks they could get from that period - "She's Got Balls", "First Blood", "Sink the Pink", "Nick of Time and on and on and on and on. And as anyone who's built their bootleg collection from the hub knows, how about a 1985 version of Jailbreak, which blows any versions following right out of the water? Even the Rock in Rio 85 Jailbreak would be cool - the first time Brian sang it live! Admittedly, it does look great, but why divide up the shows so much, too? Like the Glasgow Apollo show - between Disc 1 of Family Jewels, Disc 1 of Plug Me In and Disc 3 of Plug Me in, we'll basically have the whole show, but in no sort of unified, chronological order. Why only a few tracks from the Sight and Sound show? And the Detroit 83 show? Wouldn't it be easier to just release the whole shows of instead of parcelling them out bit by bit as they're doing to us now? Why only Gone Shooting from VH1 1996. How about Down Payment Blues and Go Down, too? What about the unaired covers of I Got You and another track I can't presently name? What fan wouldn't pay big bucks for those? All I'm saying is - yeah, it's great, but it seems like it was either overthought or not thought out enough. Who wants to bet that in another 5-10 years of inactivity, we'll get the complete Detroit, Sight and Sound and whatever shows in the bestselling format of the time?
To answer your question NotAngus, Golders Green 1977 exists in three forms, an incomplete stereo boot, a complete mono-mix boot, and the official DVD in Japan, with mono sound. My guess is that the tracks that are on this are in stereo. And another guess is that we're lucky to be getting Gone Shootin' as well, and it wasn't "I Got You" but rather "Supersticious" that they did a "jam" to. But this is pretty good for the diehards that don't already have, or already have it, but in a lower quality format (ie, VHS to DVD). But this is probably something to hold over the fans until the new album comes out.
Hi! I come from France and I'm very exited with this new DVD release. Especially by the presents we have: -Bootleg Super 8 from a very rare show from Bon Scott, Nice 79. -And of course the only interpretation of "Ride On" at that time, recorded at the Stade de France in Paris. I saw it from a single-cam video, it's so good. You'll see Brian, Cliff and Angus (I'm not sure) with the Football shirt of the France's soccer team. But it was a very nice present from them to play this awesome song for us French people. So, take a good time to see it in pro shot!
Perhaps the only thing that'd make AC/DC fans happier than this, is "Let There Be Rock" the movie on DVD officially.
Well, you didn't really answer any question I asked Travishayes. I don't recall asking what forms Golders Green exists in. Do you see it anywhere in my post? No, actually, what I did ask was why we're having full concerts parcelled out bits at a time over a number of DVDs, instead of just releasing the whole thing on one DVD. Given dual-layer DVDs, I'm pretty sure they can fit a few full pro-shot shows on each DVD. The Detroit 83 one is only 7 or 8 songs, at least as I saw it on TV and Golders Green is only 7 or 8 songs. The rest of the DVD can be odd and rare tracks, like the school show and "Ride On" and so on. I think we're both right about the rehearsals, at least according to previous stuff I have read online. I think they did both "I Got You" and "Superstitious", although I'm supposed to be workign right now so I can't surf around until I find the journalistic reference. So yeah, great that the full Golders show exists in numerous formats, but almost completely irrelevant to what my post actually asks. Thanks for making the effort, anyways.
well travis we all know that isnt going to happen, but it would be great wouldnt it? It i possible though right? just the fact there wouldnt really be any remastering to it, and it wouldnt be too DVD like, then again maybe its not
