Metalsucks.com I think. But I think the contest is stupid. It's for true AC/DC fans, but even casual AC/DC fans can't tell you which singer they think is better. And since the diehards know about Dave, that throws another curve at you.

I personally think those kind of contest are pointless and stupid. Any fan that is a member here, is way past all the Bon vs. Brian bullshit. People here respect both singers and understand their differences. Nate, I'm glad you don't allow any of that crap discussion in this forum.

He's probably talking about their ability to stay steady.

Not to beat a dead horse... They are just different... When it comes down to it... compared to some of the the crap you have seen between Van Halen/Van Hagar/Van Sharone... What makes AC/DC stand apart was they stay consistent despite a tragedy that normally rips bands apart. In never ceases to amaze me how I go back to albums I never really gave much a listen to and find tracks that I really love (most recently "Hail Ceasar" off of Ballbreaker... which is funny because 96 was one my 2nd ACDC concert

Brian and Bon were both major factors in ACDC's success. Bon brought ACDC to the Highway To Hell Album which was the bands biggest success up to that point. Bon's death put a huge story to a nearly unknown band in the USA. Sure many people saw ACDC touring in the USA to promote Highway To Hell but no ACDC songs were played regularly on the radio until Back IN Black hit the street. Brian's voice was touted at the time as sounding just like Bon. We all know there is no comparison now days but then Brian actually sounded a little like Bon, just enough to create even more controversy. Radio is basically another news format and ACDC was making big news. Both singers played major roles in ACDC's success, thats all there is to it. This question is usually asked by people who don't understand what really makes a band, RADIO play. There are many bands that ride the cusp of success and never cross over to become a major success. Look at the Ramones. I'm not a big fan but they didn't impress the media and never made it to the top.

AC/DC were destained to make it to the top, whether it was Bon, Brian or fuck nose who, solely down to their hard work and grit determination. No doubt about Bon building the foundations for Brian to stand on though. One things for sure. Bon 110% for consistant song writing. That magic is still missed to this day.
