Is AC/DC Too One Dimensional
I know I'm going to far and need to get a life so sue me. On another site i mentioned about Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns said AC/DC are too one dimensional .Can anyone tell me what he means.Travishayes89 said it means the ability to stay steady.I still dont understand. Can anyone else give me answers.I think its a jealous cheap shot.Idont know.
Yeah, it's also a jealous cheap shot. Too many bands these days have changed their sound just to keep going, but AC/DC never gave into trends in music because they are smart enough to realize that trends are just a fad, and fads change. Also, the guys jealous cause the band that half of the original line up joined with Hollywood Rose to form, Guns N' Roses. Also, rock bands always throw shit at each other, it's part of being a rock and roller. AC/DC are probably the only guys who've never said anything about anyone, even former members. (The only thing I've heard them say about Dave is that he was a bit of a pop star that chicks seemed to like too much.)
well they do bash on other bands, like saying their better than the Rolling Stones, which is quite true , they are way overated, and personally I don't like them that much.
Well, they don't do as much bashing. But the real key is that most bands that make as many changes as they did within the first ten years and later on as well... 1974 - went through one singer, and several bass players and drummers 1977 - went through another bass player 1980 - went through another singer 1983 - went through another drummer 1989 - went through another drummer 1994 - one of the old drummers comes back ...won't even make it to the tenth year. But, AC/DC managed to do so, and without changing their style. That's what makes them an easy bashing target. Also, they haven't ever really "bashed" an ex-member as other bands would've, granted they forget the guys name, they don't bash 'em. Also, the members really seem to have a good friendship with each other, as evident with all the Brian Johnson/Cliff Williams pairings. Now if all the members of AC/DC lived in the same area, imagine how fast the new album would be. But, Angus is working on a new house, Malcolm's doing who-knows-what, Phil was busy producing another band's album, and Cliff and Brian have been doing the CRC stuff. I think the new album will come out soon. But yeah, AC/DC's sound has maintained itself over 30 years and the songs are still popular, something many band's can't claim to have.
I'll answer the topic question, with a question of my own: Who the hell are the L.A. Guns? I think I made my point.
Perfect point. Just seems like Phil Lewis made a point cause he was jealous no one seems to know who the hell they are, but everyone's heard of AC/DC. (PS. The original line-up of LA Guns would fuse with Hollywood Rose to form Guns N' Roses, leaving both bands in the dust.)
AFTER READING LA GUNS THOUGHTS ON ACDC ON METALSUCKS.COM I FOUND OUT ON THE PLUG ME IN DVD SET GUNS OPENED FOR THEM 3 OR 4 TIMES. MAYBE ACDC PLAYED TO LOUD FOR THEM OR SOMETHING OF THE SORT.
Yeah they could have been like KISS and made a disco album lmfao! I admire ACDC for keeping that killer hard rock sound. I think ACDC experimented with many tones and sounds throughout their career. Yet they still held to their guns. If you are a real ACDC fan you will notice slight changes in the nuances from album to album and song to song. The 12 bar blues is what works for them so thats what they do. ACDC's style hasn't changed much. Many other bands changed their sound nearly every album. Where are those bands at now? You got it in the discounted CD section at your local drug store. A whole new generation od ACDC fans are about to emerge when their next album is released. Wait and see how many kids are running around with ACDC t-shirts and what have you.
